Reservations:
To ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, we recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. We do welcome walk-ins, but appointment availability is very limited. To accommodate your desired appointment, a credit card may be required at the time of booking to guarantee your reservation. Gift Certificates may also be used instead of a credit card to hold your appointment. We hold this information as part of our cancelation policies and only make necessary charges to your account on the date of your scheduled service. Details of our cancelation policy are provided below.
Our guest coordinators will contact you two days prior to your appointment to confirm your date and times. We also offer email and text confirmations.
We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. We also accept cash and checks. We reserve the right to limit check amounts during first visits. There is a fee of $35 for all returned checks.
*Please note that we do not perform 1st-trimester pregnancy massage. We require a doctor’s note for massage services in your 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Spa heat services are not permitted during pregnancy.
*Please notify your provider of any changes in your scalp or skin condition and any medication you are now taking or applying to your skin that could affect your service.
*We offer skin patch testing prior to your scheduled service to clear any allergy concerns. Please ask our guest service coordinator when booking your appointment.
*Color correction appointments require in-salon consultation prior to scheduling and a 50% deposit of the anticipated cost of the corrected color.
Although we offer planned spa packages for your convenience, you are welcome to combine any of our spa and salon services for a custom package that meets your needs.
Check-in:
We ask that you please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals and reserve the right to reschedule. However, the service length may be adjusted to avoid interrupting other guests’ scheduled appointments. The full price of scheduled services will apply, so please plan accordingly. Of course, beyond the check-in policies, we invite all our guest receiving services to use our relaxing environment here at Varuna Salon Spa fully. Come early, stay late, bring a book, relax, and enjoy complimentary tea and infused water in our relaxation area.
Cancellation Policies and Fees:
Your salon and spa treatments are reserved especially for you. We value your business and ask that you respect our scheduling policies. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Any cancellations with less than 24 hours of notice are subject to a cancelation fee of 50% of the cost of the scheduled service. Clients who miss their appointments without prior notification will be charged in full for the scheduled service. We recognize the time of our clients and staff is valuable, and we have implemented this policy for this reason. When you miss an appointment with us, we not only lose your business but also the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time.
When you schedule your appointment with us, you agree to these policies. All services require a credit card or gift certificate to guarantee a reservation, so please have your credit card and/or gift certificate ready when booking. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation or no-show. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment.
Hair Color Policy:
At Varuna Aveda, we strive to create the ideal look for each guest and take pride in our work and services. If you are unsatisfied or have any questions or concerns about the services you have received, please notify us within 1 week of services. We are committed to your satisfaction, and time is of the essence to correct your hair color.
Within that 7-day period, services can be corrected with the original stylist free of charge or another stylist per management discretion. We do not issue refunds on services. We require that you return to the salon promptly to see the stylist who performed the initial service. At that time, we will make every effort to correct the problem to your satisfaction. These adjustments are available to you at no cost within a week of your initial service.
Any redo request made after one week from the original service date will be under the discretion of management/owner approval and may be charged full price. The redo policy does not cover a change in the style or color initially requested. Varuna Aveda Salon Spa will not be liable nor offer redo services for hair color that has been done outside of our salon. We appreciate your understanding of this necessary policy and are honored to have you as our guest.
Group Bookings:
Please get in touch with our Group Coordinator for group booking policies and availability for parties of three or more. A completed contract and deposit are required to secure your appointment and arrange pricing. A 20% gratuity will be added to all spa parties. Exclusive use of the Salon and Spa is available; please inquire about fees and available dates.
Cell Phones:
We kindly ask that you turn your cell phones and pagers to vibrate upon arrival and remember to speak in your very soft spa voice once you enter the spa. Please inform your therapist should you need to make a phone call so that you may do so without disturbing other spa guests. Cell phone use may affect the length of your spa services. For salon patrons, please respect our guests receiving services around you. Our services are designed for relaxation, which is a great time to unplug from electronics.
Prices and Services:
Prices and services are subject to change without notice. We will do our best to keep our clients updated on any changes but encourage all clients to inquire about pricing and available services when booking their appointments.
A “+” sign or range pricing indicates price variations among service providers. These variations are based on advanced education and experience with our company. Hair length and texture can increase the price of service. We offer complimentary consultations in our hair department to discuss your hair options.
Administrative Fee
Gift Certificate Policy:
Gift Certificates are available in any amount and may be purchased at Varuna’s front desk, by phone at 410-268-2828, or online at www.varunasalonspa.com. Out of town? Too busy? No problem. We will mail your gift certificate to you. We also offer drive-up services when available. Unfortunately, we cannot process returns or reimburse payment transactions on gift certificates, even if lost, misplaced, or stolen. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed as cash.
Series of Treatments:
We cannot process returns or reimburse any payment transaction on any purchased spa treatment series. We will. However, you may exchange them for other products or salon/spa credit of equal value.
Guest Service:
It is our desire that you leave Varuna Salon Spa fully satisfied. Your happiness is a priority in our business.
If you are unsatisfied with your color and cutting service, please call and schedule a complimentary redo within seven days from your original service date. The redo policy does not cover a change in the direction of your original requested style or color. If you are not completely satisfied with a spa service, please call and schedule a complimentary redo within three days from your original service date. No cash refunds are permitted. All guarantees will be determined by management.
Gratuity:
Gratuity is not included in the price of service or spa packages; customary tipping runs 15% to 20% but is, of course, at your discretion. You may tip the therapist at the front desk with cash. With parties of 3 or more, a 20% gratuity will be added to the final bill. There is an ATM located in the retail area for your convenience.
Children:
For your child’s safety and our guests’ enjoyment, no children are allowed in the spa area unless they are receiving a service. An adult must accompany any minor children receiving spa services. In addition, please ensure that your child can contribute to our stress-free environment in the salon area. For many, this is precious “me” time. We will be happy to reschedule your services if this is not possible. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
Personal Belongings:
Please leave all jewelry and valuable items at home. Varuna Salon Spa is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or misplaced items.
Salon Spa Promotions:
Varuna Salon Spa specials cannot be combined with any other offer, promotions, or promotional gift certificates.
Return Policy:
Our mission is to provide you with the highest-quality hair, skin, and body care products with your services. If you purchase any of our salon or spa products for home use and find them defective, we will exchange any products within 30 days of purchase, provided a receipt is presented.
Bridal Service Policies
We strive to create an environment of tranquil joy for you and your bridal party. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to enhance your experience further.
Appointment Scheduling:
To accommodate all service requests and appointment times for you and your bridal party, all arrangements must be confirmed with our Bridal Coordinator at least thirty days before your wedding date. We love our brides and bridal parties, and it shows because our appointments fill up quickly. We understand that unforeseen events can occur when planning your wedding, and we will make every effort to meet your needs. Please note, however, that our salon services are often booked quite far in advance, and changes within thirty days may not be possible based on availability. We greatly appreciate your efforts to finalize all service needs early in your planning process.
We recommend that you arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled service time so that you have ample time to relax prior to your service. A button-down shirt for you and all members of your bridal party is recommended.
Payment:
A deposit payment of 30% of the total charge for services is necessary to schedule appointments. The balance is due on the day of your wedding. A 20% gratuity will be added to your full bridal contract service price.
Wedding Cancellation / Refunds:
If you must cancel your appointments, please notify the Bridal Coordinator at least two weeks or more prior to your original designated wedding date to receive a refund of your entire deposit minus a cancellation fee of $50. If you do not cancel with at least two weeks notice, you will not receive a deposit refund.
Please note that any services scheduled for members of the weddingwhoty who miss their appointment on the day of the wedding must be paid for in full.
